Biography

Serving on the Ionic Digital Board since July 2025, Michael is the Co-founder and CIO of GreenWulf Asset Management, an opportunistic asset management firm focused on AI infrastructure and financial technology, which invests in crypto public securities, bitcoin miner financings, bankruptcy claims, energy, and AI data center infrastructure. 

Prior to GreenWulf, Mr. Abbate spent 17 years at King Street Capital Management, in both NY and London, where he was a Partner. He sat on King Street’s US Investment, Risk, Brokerage and New Products Committees and was responsible for overseeing US trading operations. Michael founded King Street’s European office and European Fund with $100mm and grew that product to over $1 billion. 

Michael began his career at Morgan Stanley as part of the Global Technology Group. He holds a degree from Dartmouth College in Computer and Engineering Sciences with a minor in Economics.
